Knoxville hosting Sea Ray's global dealer meeting

9/16/2011

Just days after announcing an expansion of its global retail network in hope of an improved economy, Sea Ray said it will unveil its 2012 lineup of boats and yachts next week during a three-day event in Knoxville for dealers and customers.

Sea Ray will hold a two-day dealer meeting beginning Tuesday, which is expected to draw more than 250 boat sellers from 25 countries. On Thursday, the Knoxville-based company will hold a one-day sales event for customers.

The dealer meeting and customer sales event officially kick off the manufacturer's 2012 model year and will reveal redesigned models and technology upgrades, according to the company, which plans to introduce its new 190 Sport and 410 Sundancer models.

"We moved our dealer meeting to September because it allows us to showcase more of our new model-year boats and because it is more convenient to our dealers, who come from all over the world," said Rob Noyes, Sea Ray vice president of marketing.

Noyes said Sea Ray has more than 450 dealers in 84 countries.

Sea Ray last week announced it has expanded its global retail network with the addition of 22 Sea Ray and Meridian Yacht dealerships in nine countries. The expansion is part of parent company Brunswick Corp.'s strategy to be ready to meet customer needs when the economy bounces back.
