9/14/2011
The city of Knoxville has been named a "model city" for its new household recycling program.
The Climate Group, a nonprofit organization that works to cut global greenhouse gas emissions, said the city's program will have an impact on diverting material from landfills.
Knoxville has worked for several years on a new household curbside, single-stream recycling program that's about to get started.
Knoxville has 17,600 households signed up for the program.
